Our Assessment: The Swiss Schmidt-Rubin Model 1911 Carbine was produced from 1914 to 1933. Production ended with the introduction of the Swiss K31. The K11 Carbine is a shorter version of the Swiss Model 1911 but it still retains a reputation as an accurate rifle. This K11 was made back in 1917. The metal finish has some issues but should clean up a bit. The rifle has nice wood, a good bore and a fast straight pull action that should keep you smiling out at the range. It also has deep markings on the metal that include matching numbers on the receiver, barrel & bolt as well as a “Privat” or private property mark. The Privat mark was placed on a retiring soldier’s rifle if chose to purchase it. The rifle comes with a Swiss Model 1914 Sawback Sword Bayonet, Scabbard and Belt Frog.
This K11 Carbine looks impressive with the bayonet mounted. It will add to your Swiss or Military collection.
