Markings: The bottom of the receiver is marked “Essencia” in gold. The sideplates are both marked “KRIEGHOFF” in gold. The bottom tang, watertable, and forend iron are all marked with the serial number “1078”. The rib is marked “KRIEGHOFF Made in Germany”. The bottom of the left barrel is marked “Krieghoff int. Ottsville PA” and with a proof. The bottom of the right barrel is marked with “JZ” in a shield, “1078 DE” a proof, and “28/70”. Both barrel flats are marked “14.0” and the left barrel flat is marked with two proofs and “906”. The watertable is also marked with a proof. The sideplates, tangs, receiver, trigger guard, forend iron hardware, and trigger plate all have English scroll engraving.

Choke: The left barrel is choked Improved Modified and the right barrel is choked Modified.
Sights / Optics: The sight is a brass bead set on the rib at the muzzle.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered deluxe Turkish walnut with a straight grip, straight comb, Anson release semi-beavertail forend, and checkered bare butt. The forend has some light handling wear. The buttstock has a few draglines along the belly and a couple little compressions just above the toe. There are two little tiny nicks on the right side of the buttstock behind the checkering just above the belly. There are a few minor draglines and light compressions on the comb, the most noticeable are above the heel. The checkering is generally sharp, there are a few little marks, the most noticeable is on the right side of the grip. The LOP measures 14 3/4″ and 13 7/8″ from the fronts of the triggers to the butt. The butt has a few spots of light wear on the heel but the checkering is strong. The drop at the front of the comb is about 1 3/8″, drop at the rear of the comb 1 3/4?, drop at heel is about 2 5/16″. The cast is slightly off. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine Plus-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright and there is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun set retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are light handling marks. There is a small spot of thinning on the top of the rib towards the rear. There is faint operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrel locks to the receiver with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a leather carry case with canvas cover. The case has storage for the barrel, stocked receiver, snap caps, cleaning rod, and cleaning kit. The case contains two snap caps, paperwork including the manual, a cleaning kit, and a wood cleaning rod.
