Stock Configuration and Condition: The grip is a one-piece textured black rubber finger-grooved Colt-branded Hogue Monogrip. Minor nicks can be seen in the smooth areas with three more notable nicks on the bottom. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grip rates in Fine condition.
Type of Finish: Bead Blasted

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is well-defined. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is a bit of minor stubborn fouling.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few notable marks—a light nick through the finish on the right side forward of the cylinder, a similar nick over the Rampant Colt on the side plate, and a cluster of minor nicks on the left side of the barrel forward of the markings. The cylinder has a turn line through the finish as well as a few scattered light nicks. Screws are sharp with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Fine-to-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions properly. There is minor play on each chamber even with the trigger depressed. The double action pull is smooth, and the single action is light. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This Anaconda includes a serial-matching blue factory snap-case along with various factory paperwork including the manual.
Our Assessment: Colt introduced the Anaconda built on a new, heavy “AA” frame to compete with the Ruger Redhawk and Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolvers. Our impression is that the Anaconda probably offers a smoother double action pull over the Ruger and is more rugged than the Smith & Wesson. This revolver is great for target shooting. Being such a well built gun, it is likely to become a favorite addition to your Colt stable of serpent guns, but with its high condition, Colt collectors will be champing at the bit. Good luck and happy bidding!
