Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is some dried cosmoline at the front of the barrel and magazine tube. There is light operational thinning on the lever. The recessed portions of the game scenes on the sides of the receiver show some discoloration which should clean up, but give a nice depth and detail to the scenes. The action shows very minor operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The rifle has a half-cock safety and a lever safety. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes in a wood display case with red-lined French-fit interior, leather “Winchester” banner adhered on the inside of the lid, and a wood lidded accessory compartment which holds a key for the case and ten rounds of 30-30. The adhesive on the leather banner has worn off. The case has some light scratches, a couple scuffs, and a screw hole on the back with a split through it. The case rates in about Good-Very Good condition.

Our Assessment: This is a 1977 issued carbine (one of 1,500 made) with gold finished, and Ulrich engraved receiver, that is in virtually unused condition with beautiful, unmarred, highly figured wood. It comes in its original hard wood display case with a key and ten rounds of 30-30 ammunition. This is a beautiful rifle that would sit nicely in a Winchester collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
