Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grips are two piece black checkered plastic panels that envelop the back strap. There are two small cracks around the escutcheon on the left panel. The grips have scuffs and scratches along the smooth borders, more notable on the left panel. The checkering remains sharp. Overall the grips are in Good condition and would rate higher if not for the cracks.

Type of Finish: Stainless

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion but there is some stubborn fouling in the grooves nearer the throat.

Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 97% of its finish. There are scattered faint nicks and scratches that are most noticeable on the chamber, throughout the slide, and on the left side of the frame. The front strap shows handling wear. The markings are clear. The grip screw and slide serrations remain sharp. Overall this pistol is in Fine-Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide has some play to the frame. The safety acts as a decocker. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.

Box Paperwork and Accessories: One 7-round magazine is included with a pinky extension. Also included is a brown leather Safariland holster with light wear and strong stitching, in about Fine condition.

Our Assessment:  “PPK” is an abbreviation for Polizeipistole Kriminal (literally “police pistol criminal”), referring to the Kriminalamt crime investigation office. While the K is often mistakenly assumed to stand for kurz (German for “short”), as the variant has a shorter barrel and frame, Walther used the name “Kriminal” in early advertising brochures and the 1937 GECO German catalog. The Walther PPK is a well designed handgun, this particular variant takes .380 ACP ammunition. This particular PPK was produced under contract by Interarms in Virginia for Walther circa 1989-1990. It retains about 97% original finish and is in Fine-Plus condition. Please see our photos and good luck!
