Our Assessment: A revolver chambered in a rimless cartridge such as 9mm offers the obvious advantage of being able to use the same ammunition as your favorite semi-automatic pistols. The further advantage, shared by this excellent Model 940, is that it is typically loaded using a moon clip, ensuring positive ejection of all cases when unloading and allowing fresh cartridges to be loaded all at once without having to discard your loading device after loading, as with speedloaders. Thus, this revolver allows the use of modern ammunition designed for semi-automatics, reloads with a similar speed as semi-automatics, yet still retains the simplicity and reliability of the revolver. This particular version of the Model 940 is the 2″ version and will be an excellent complement to one of your 9mm semi-automatic carry guns. Please see our photos and good luck!
