Markings: The top tang is marked “F08250X”. The water table is marked with Italian proofs. The bottom of the receiver is marked “MADE IN ITALY”, “686 SILVER PIGEON I”, and also has the three arrow logo. The trigger plate is marked “PATENTED”. The receiver has foliate scroll engraving that is continued on the guard, lever, and forend iron. The sides of the receiver are also marked “BERETTA” and have the three arrow logo. The left of the top barrel is marked “12 GA. 3″ – 76 – 28″ / BERETTA – GARDONE V.T. – MADE IN ITALY”. The right of the top barrel is marked with “WARNING: READ MANUAL BEFORE USE / BERETTA USA CORP. ACKK. MD / EXCELSIOR H.S.A. STEEL”. Below the forend, the left of each barrel is marked with Italian proofs and the date code. The monoblock is marked with the serial number and “IT20”. The bottom of the barrel is marked “0451845”. The interior of the forend is marked “C5K957P” and “969102”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a steel bead on the barrel at the front of the rib. The rib is checkered for glare reduction

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a pistol grip, monte carlo comb, and a rubber Beretta buttpad. There are a few light handling marks, no major defects. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The drop at comb measures approximately 1 1/2” and 2” at the rear of the monte carlo comb. The cast is neutral. The pad has light wear. Overall, the stocks are in about Excellent condition as modified

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 99% of its metal finish. There is light handling wear, no major defects. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The action locks up tight with no play. The safety engages automatically when opening the action. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a Beretta hard case, paperwork including the manual, Improved Modified choke, Improved Cylinder choke, and a Cylinder choke.
Our Assessment: This Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I in 12 gauge that has a 28” barrel set with removable chokes. Chambered for 12 gauge with a 28″ barrel and capable of accepting a variety of chokes, this is a versatile gun that will be suitable for upland birds and challenging yourself on the Skeet fields. This shotgun is in Excellent condition and we wonder if it was ever used. This is a well made Italian double gun made by one of the best, it will serve its new owner well for years to come.
