Markings: The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and “SIG SAUER INC. / NEWINGTON-NH-USA”. The right side of the chamber is marked “9mm x 19”, the left side of the chamber is marked “SIG SAUER” and “C”. The left side of the slide is marked “SIG SAUER P226” and a Navy anchor. The left side of the slide “has a sticker with a QR code and is marked “MFR 1EF82 / PNO MK-25-TB / SER 47C020670”. The left grip panel is marked “P226” and the right is marked “SIG SAUER”. The underside of the top of the slide is marked “1023 04”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a tritium lamp and is dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a square notch with two tritium lamps and is dovetailed into the slide. The lamps have dimmed slightly but still produce a strong easily acquired glow in low light.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black textured plastic that enclose the backstrap and have smooth borders. There are no major defects, just light handling wear. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition. The front strap is serrated.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, just some light fouling.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The barrel and guide rod have been polished. There are no major imperfections. There is light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are strong and clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included with this pistol is a 15-round mag, paperwork including the manual, serial matching case, the uninstalled threaded barrel and guide rod/spring, and a holster. Please note, the barrel will not be shipped installed where prohibited by law. Aslo, no magazine will be included where prohibited by law.
Our Assessment: The P226 is a time-tested platform that has seen use in militaries and law enforcement agencies alike. With its reputation for reliability and durability, you can’t go wrong with it. It was developed for U.S. military trials when the military wanted a 9mm service pistol and only lost the bid to Beretta because of the total package price. While it did not win the contract, some units including the U.S. Navy Seals, liked what they saw and decided to adopt the pistol.
