Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “PIETRO BERETTA GARDONE V.T. – MADE IN ITALY”. The left side of the frame is marked “MOD 85F – CAL 9 Short”. The top of the barrel is marked ‘CAL 9 Short / 380 Auto”. The right side of the slide is marked “PB”, features a safety disclaimer above “PATENTED BERETTA USA CORP. ACKK. MD” The right side of the frame is marked “PB”, has sItalian proof marks including the date code “BF” and the serial number “F26760Y”. The grip panels feature “PB” marked medallions.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade with a white dot fixed to the muzzle end of the slide. The rear sight is square-notch dovetailed to the rear end of the slide with white paint on the back end of the notch.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip panels are two-piece checkered wood panels. The grips have some handling marks, nicks and scuffs. Notably, there is a patch of white colored residue on the right panel. The checkering is sharp. There are no cracks or chips. Overall, the grip panels are in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 90% of its metal finish. There are some scuffs, nicks and handling marks on the metal parts of the pistol. Notably, there is some wear on the back-strap. The markings remain clear. The screwheads remain serviceable. Overall, the pistol remains in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit is snug. The single-action trigger is crisp and the double-action is smooth. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The pistol comes with a soft case for transport, a total of three 8-shot magazines and two nylon magazine carriers. The magazines have some handling wear but all remain in Very Good condition.
Our Assessment: This Beretta Model 85-F is a compact, single-stack, single and double-action semi-automatic pistol chambered for .380 ACP rounds. The pistol has a utilitarian black finish suited to the rigours of the field and remains mechanically sound. Beretta is currently the oldest manufacturer of firearm components in the world, the company manufactured arquebus barrels which were supplied to the Venetian fleet that defeated the Ottomans during the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. The company remains one of the most prestigious firearms manufacturers in the world, and this pistol is an example of the quality firearms the company is renowned for.
