Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q.”. The right side of the slide is marked “MADE IN BELGIUM / BY FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL”. The barrel is marked “Cal. 9m/mL / 245PY44075”. The left side of the trigger guard is marked “P” and the right side with a proof and inspection mark. The right side has a proof and inspection mark and the left side has several small factory markings. The bottom of the chamber and firing pin housing also have small factory markings.

Sights / Optics: This pistol has a rear sloping blade atop a boss with a serrated rear face. The rear sight is a cylindrical square notch that is adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black checkered wraparound rubber marked “Pachmayr Signature Model”. The main piece wraps around the front strap and screws in over the top of the back strap piece to secure it in place. There are no tears in the rubber. There is a thumb rest on both sides. The checkering is sharp. The grip rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion but there is some faint fouling.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are minor handling marks on the slide and frame. There is one notable small scratch on the right side of the frame above the trigger guard. The trigger shows slight wear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: This pistol has a crisp single action trigger pull. The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with two 10-round Mec-Gar magazines and a black Browning soft case.
Our Assessment: Browning Hi-Power pistols are known to be quality tried and trusted pistols. They have been the chosen sidearm by armies and police forces across the world throughout the millennia. This pistol has a very ergonomic grip frame, and is one of the few pistols with double stacked magazines perfect for those with smaller hands. As one of the “Made In Belgium” Browning Hi-Powers, the quality of this pistol is considered superior. This example was manufactured in 1985 and features a sharp looking silver-chrome finish with a gold toned trigger, which breaks crisp & clean. This pistol will make a great gun for home protection or concealed carry, though this writer feels it would fit in better with a collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
