Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. ILION, NY 5.56 NATO or 223 REM “, a “C” inside a triangle, and “WZ”. The left side of the receiver is marked “Remington 7615 POLICE” and with the serial number. The right side of the barrel is marked with an ovalled “R.E.P.” and two inspection marks.

Barrel Length: 18 1/2”  

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a white beaded blade dovetailed into a serrated ramped base screwed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a “U” notch on a slider on an elevation ramp fixed to the barrel and is fully adjustable. The top of the receiver is installed with a one-piece base and a pair of rings holding a Bushnell Banner 4-12×40 scope. The scope has some scattered light handling marks. There are a few little light handling marks. The scope has a duplex reticle and the glass is clear, it rates in about Excellent condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered black polymer with a pistol grip, straight comb, and a black rubber buttpad. There are a few little rubs and light handling marks. The checkering is mostly sharp. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad has some scattered light wear with heavier wear on the edges. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few light rubs and light handling wear. The pinheads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a Remington Model 7615 Police pump action rifle chambered for 5.56 NATO. The 7615 is a member of the 7600 family, itself a descendant of the 760. The Model 760 was introduced after WWII, during the war the company had to streamline production and use more economical methods and materials. This caused issues since these new practices could not be adapted to their pre-war designs, thus the 760 was born and replaced the Model 141 pump action. The 7600 is like the earlier 760 with some updates to the action and was introduced in 1981. This one is a Police Model and what makes it cool is that it can take the same magazines as your AR-15, thud dubbed the 7615. The purpose of the design was to give police officers the same operation as their Model 870 shotguns but with a rifle. With its slick pump action design and 18 1/2″ barrel, it’s a fairly compact and fast-handling gun which will allow for rapid follow-up shots. The rifle has nice adjustable iron sights but comes installed with an optic. The bore is stellar and there is no reason to think that with the proper care that this rifle won’t last a few lifetimes.
