Markings: The right side of the barrel is marked “45 AUTO-45 COLT” The right side of the frame is marked “RUGER Redhawk,“®”, and the company’s phoenix logo. The underside of the grip frame is marked with the serial number “504-07303”. The underside of the ejector rod housing is marked with a factory warning.
Barrel Length: 4 1/8″ with serrated barrel rib
Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade with orange insert and hand-painted green rectangle dovetailed into the barrel rib. The rear sight is a black square-notch leaf adjustable for elevation and windage in a base pinned to a channel in the topstrap.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece wood panels textured/checkered insets and inset Ruger phoenix logo medallions. Apart from one more notable nick at the top of the right panel, the grips have only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion, but there is some very minor stubborn fouling near to the forcing cone.
Overall Condition: The stainless steel has scattered minor nicks that are most evident on the left side of the barrel. The cylinder has a turn line as well as light nicks along the front edge. Pins are unmarred, and all markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with minor play when the trigger is depressed. Please note, moon clips will be needed to fire ACP rounds. The single action is crisp, and the double action is smooth. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This Redhawk includes a serial-matching red Ruger factory snap-case and a lock.
Our Assessment: The Redhawk was Ruger’s first large bore double action revolver and was available in several barrel lengths and chambered for an assortment of powerful cartridges such as .357 and .44 Magnum. Of note here is the ability of this example to fire both .45 Colt and .45 ACP rounds (you will need moon clips to fire ACP rounds). Like the Security-Six, the Redhawk designed by Harry Sefried as a part of their “6” line of guns (Security, Service, Speed, etc.) The Redhawk is a wrist-breaker, a beastly thrill to shoot, but as a tool, and most times it is best utilized when on the hunt should you run into a predator. However, the 4 ?” barrel length and “smaller” caliber make this Redhawk a more than ideal personal/home defense weapon too. This example is in overall Fine condition with minimal wear—the bore could do with a cleaning, however. Good luck and happy bidding!
