Markings: The underside of the barrel is marked with a two-line Ruger warning. The left side of the frame is marked “RUGER® .45 CALIBER / NEW MODEL SUPER BLACKHAWK®”. The right side of the frame under the cylinder is marked with the serial number “48-56864”. The cylinder is serial matching, hand-scribed “8 6 4”. The cylinder is marked “RUGER / BISLEY / MODEL” along with some floriate engraving, an engraving of a man in a shooting pose and a crest.

Barrel Length: 5 1/2”

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade integral to a base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable square-notch leaf in a base pinned to a channel in the topstrap.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth wood panels, each with inset Ruger phoenix logo medallions. There are very minor handling marks and a few minor nicks on the left panel. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Fine-plus condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion, but there is quite a bit of light stubborn fouling nearer to the muzzle.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few minor nicks and scuffs, mainly on the barrel. There is a turn line on the cylinder. The screws have light toolmarks with strong slots, pins are unmarred, and all markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks with almost no play. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
