Markings: The left of the slide is marked “COLT MKIV / -SERIES 80-” and with a Rampant Colt. The right of the slide is marked “LIGHTWEIGHT OFFICER’S ACP”. The right of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” and with the serial number. The left of the trigger guard is marked “1” and with the “VP” verified proof. The right of the trigger guard is marked “K”. The top of the chamber is marked “-COLT 45 AUTO-“.

Barrel Length: 3 1/2”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a recessed white dot and is fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notched sight with two recessed white dots and is dovetailed into the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered wood with gold Colt medallions. There some light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition.

Type of Finish: Matte Black with Alloy Frame

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is some light thinning on the leading edges. There are some spots of light discoloration on the sides of the hammer. There is some thinning on the grip safety. There are a couple of oil marks on the front strap. There is a scuff that has thinned the finish on the frontstrap. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Fine Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit has little play. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a single 6-round magazine, serial matching box, Pachmayr checkered black rubber grip, and serial matching box.

Our Assessment: The most compact of Colt’s 1911-style firearms, the Officer’s model has a shorter barrel than the Commander and a shorter frame than either the Commander or Government model, making it better for concealed carry. This example is an Officer’s Lightweight ACP, similar to the standard Officer’s models but with a matte black finish and alloy frame. Chambered for the powerful .45 ACP cartridge, this would make a potent carry pistol that will conceal well while still packing a punch. The pistol is in about Fine Plus condition with signs of light use, a bright bore with sharp rifling, and strong mechanics. Please see our photos and good luck!
