Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “FREEDOM ARMS MODEL 97 .41 REM MAG / *FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A.*”. The left side of the frame is marked “R 0234”. The bottom of the frame is marked “PATENTED”. The rear face of the cylinder is marked “R0234”. The right side of the frame is marked “FREEDOM ARMS / PREMIER GRADE”.
Barrel Length: 7 1/2”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade set on a base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flat-topped square notch sight and is adjustable for windage and elevation and screwed to the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth wood. There are a couple of little dings and light hairline scratches, most noticeable on the front of the right panel. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some draglines and light handling marks. There are a couple little scuffs that have caused smooth spots, most noticeable on the barrel. The cylinder has a light turn line on the cylinder. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup is solid with NO play. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching blue box with a manual.
Our Assessment: Freedom Arms makes what are probably the highest quality single-action revolvers in the world, and this single action Model 97 revolver is no exception. The action and trigger pull are exceptional. The lockup is solid with no movement. The stainless finish with the unfluted cylinder is very appealing to the eye as well as functional in being nearly impervious to the elements. This example has a 7 1/2″ barrel, adjustable sights, and is chambered for the potent .41 Remington Magnum. Paired with Freedom Arms’ quality, this is a really nice package for the handgun hunter, outdoorsman, or Freedom Arms fan. Please see our photos and good luck!
