Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLONEL SAMUEL COLT” and “1814-1862”. The left side of the frame is marked “LIMITED EDITION”. The backstrap is marked “ONE of 950” and the bottom of the grip frame is marked “251 of 950”. The frame chin is marked with the serial number, “130836” The cylinder features a Naval scene engraved by W.L. Ormsby and is marked with “PATENT NO / Engraved by W.L. Ormsby New York”. There is floriate engraving throughout the revolver.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch integral to the front of the hammer.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth wood panels. The left panel has one notable nick on the lower edge. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is well defined. There is no erosion, but some minor stubborn fouling persists throughout.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 96% of its finish. There are minor nicks and scuffs scattered about. The finish on the cylinder is a bit more dull in appearance than the rest of the metal. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The nipples are unobstructed. The cylinder locks up with no play. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This revolver includes a glass-top wood case with velvet inlay and lock and key, powder flask, bullet mold, and serial number tag.
