Our Assessment: Para-Ordnance has been cranking out double stacked 1911’s like this since 1990 and with a wide reception from the competitive shooting circles, it has become commonplace to see 1911’s capable of carrying flush-fitting hi-cap magazines, a huge step over the initial design. This one that has a Para frame but was customized by Les Baer, back in the day, Para would send out just frames to gunsmiths so that they could do a full house build with whatever parts they or their customer wanted. The gun is a full house build on a Para frame and has a Les Baer match barrel, national match bushing, full-length guide rod, skeletonized hammer & trigger, Bomar target sight, memory bump beavertail safety, ambidextrous extended thumb safeties, extended magazine release, Baer slide with angled serrations front & rear, and flared extended magazine well. The front and rear of the grip frame have been checkered and the beavertail safety has been well blended and the slide to frame fit is superb. This gun was likely built back in the day for a USPSA shooter who competed in the Limited 10 division and would make a great pistol to do so today. This would also make a fine duty, home defense, or target shooting pistol. Please see our photos and good luck!
