Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “.44 MAGNUM / RAGING BULL”. The grips have Taurus medallions. The rear end of the Cylinder is marked “2” and “6”. The inside portion of the ejector rod collar is marked “1217”. The portion of the frame that is covered by the ejector rod is marked with a proof and “1217 / 144”. The right side of the barrel is marked “TAURUS®”. The right side of the frame is marked with the Taurus logo, “TAURUS INT. MFG. / MIAMI, FL.-USA”, features the serial number “SH748987” and “MADE IN BRAZIL”.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade with a red dot that is pinned to a ramp which is integral to the muzzle end of the ventilated rib. The rear sight is an adjustable square-notch which has been screwed to the rear end of the top-strap. The top of the barrel features a ventilated rib with a full shroud.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grips are two piece textured black rubber with finger grooves and a red back-strap that has extra cushioning. The grips have only minor handling marks and lack any notable defects. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued with Case Colored Trigger and Hammer

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some minor handling marks on the pistol including a turnline which has developed on the cylinder, in addition to some small scratches and nicks. The markings remain clear. The screwheads are serviceable. Overall, the revolver remains in Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single-action trigger is crisp and the double-action is smooth. The cylinder locks with barely perceptible play on each chamber. We did not fire this revolver. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards

Our Assessment: This Taurus Raging Bull is a double & single-action revolver with a 6-shot swing-out cylinder that takes .44 magnum rounds. Taurus is a Brazilian firearms company that was founded in 1941 and began to be imported to the American market in the late 1960s. The company is famous for its utilitarian guns which are mechanically sound. This pistol is a popular firearm which packs quite a punch. The .44 magnum cartridges used by the pistol were referred to as “the most powerful” by Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) in the film Dirty Harry, which is not true today but remains an enduring testament to the cartridge’s stopping power. The pistol is designed to be used when hunting larger game, it can take on animals up to about an elk in size. This is a large caliber revolver that you do not want to miss out on!
