Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition assuming the bore cleans out.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder produces hardly any side-to-side play in full lockup in all 6 chambers. The double action trigger pull is smooth, the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: This is Smith & Wesson’s Model 22-4, it is a member of the Classics Series and was unveiled by the company as a reintroduction of the Model of 1950 .45. the revolver has a four-screw frame, 4″ barrel, blued finish, old-style thumbpiece, and service sights. The .45 ACP is still a popular caliber with a wide variety of ammunition available at reasonable prices (usually). This example is in about Excellent condition with about 98% of its original finish with only light handling wear and good mechanics. The bore has a coat of stubborn leading and will require patient cleaning to remove. Chambered in .45 ACP, this out to be a great revolver for target practice, home defense, or revolver competition. Please see our pictures and good luck!
