Markings: The right side of the slide is marked ”COLT’S MFG CO HARTFORD CT USA” on a gold banner amid scroll relief engraving. The left side of the slide has a gold rampant colt logo in a gold oval amid matching engraving. The right side of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. / GV020156” and on the dust cover with “GOVERNMENT MODEL”. The barrel is marked “-COLT SUPER 38 AUTO N.M.-“. The left of the trigger guard is marked “VP” in triangle and “L”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered wood with smooth diamonds around the grip screws. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit is tight. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue plastic Colt box with serial-matching label, an assortment of factory paperwork including manual, serial-matching factory hang-tag and red “stop-sign” hang-tag on the trigger guard, cable lock, and a single 9-round Colt magazine.
Our Assessment: This is a beautiful Colt 1911 Classic made as a distributor exclusive for Davidson’s and dubbed the “Heritage” series. The pistol features custom engraving and gold finish from Baron Engraving. This pistol is gorgeous and comes in its original box in Excellent condition. This pistol appears to have seen little, if any use, still having the factory hang-tag on the trigger guard. It will make a great display piece to add to a collection and will also serve as an impressive BBQ gun for the lucky winner. Please see our photos and good luck!
