Our Assessment: Our Assessment: While closer in appearance to a Model 629, this is a 29-3 that has been customized by Mag-na-port and now has a 3″ ported barrel, round butt grip frame, and has new markings. From what we have been able to find on these customized revolvers, only 100 were made. MagnaPort is a company that pioneered electron discharge machining to cut compensator ports in the barrels of guns, including revolvers. Second Chance was a manufacturer of body armor founded by Richard Davies. For many years Richard Davies ran the Second Chance Shoot, a bowling pin shooting competition in Michigan. Some think that these were customized as prize guns for the shoot. In any case this is a sweet revolver customized by Mag-na-port and should shoot as good as it looks.
