Sights / Optics: There is a dovetail at the rear of the slide and a hole at the front for mounting sights, but none are included.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered wood panels with smooth diamonds around the grip screws. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its current metal finish. The action shows very faint operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol has a tight slide and a crisp trigger. This pistol was made without a firing pin block safety. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Colt’s 1911 served the United States military through two World Wars and several other conflicts, is still in use by some units today, and has become popular with law enforcement, competitors, and recreational shooters across the nation. The design has seen some updates including a firing-pin block safety, higher profile sights, and more ergonomic grips, but the basic design and fantastic trigger remain the same after more than a century. This is a more recent version, the 1911 Classic. This specific variant is a “naked slide” variant, with no markings on the slide and no sights installed. This is the perfect pistol if you’re looking to get custom engraving done or add custom sights. The pistol appears to have seen little, if any use. It still has its inventory tag on the trigger guard! If you’re a fan of the 1911 and you’ve got a custom build in mind, especially if it involves engraving, this is the perfect gun to use.
