LSB#: 210714SH01
Make: Colt
Model: 1911
Serial Number: 157582
Year of Manufacture: 1917
Action Type: Single Action Semi-Automatic Pistol Frame Only
Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “NO 157582”. The left side of the frame is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” and behind the trigger with a faint, circled “GHS” (Col. Gilbert H. Stewart, Colt 1911 Pistols 1915-1919). The flat on the top of the frame around the disconnector is marked “G”, “H” and “2”, and the right rail is marked with a small square box.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered brown plastic with no reinforcement rings around the screw heads and with reinforcement ribs on the interior. The grips show minor handling wear with only a few scattered light nicks, most notable behind the top screw on the right panel. The checkering is generally sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The bottom screw on each grip is seized to its bushing, turning the screw head turns the bushing in the frame rather than turning the screw in the bushing. The frame threads for the bushing on the left are still strong, the threads for the bushing and in the frame on the right are stripped. Overall, the grips are in about Fine condition.
Type of Finish: Parkerized
Finish Originality: Refinished
Overall Condition: This pistol frame retains about 90% of its current metal finish. The finish is thinning at some edges. There is wear on the left of the frame where it would normally be covered by the slide stop and an “idiot mark” under the slide stop. The mainspring housing has scattered wear and surface oxidation. The fronstrap has some light nicks and minor erosion under the finish. The frame rails show operational wear. The markings range from clear to worn and shallow. The bottom screw on each grip is seized to its bushing, turning the screw head turns the bushing in the frame rather than turning the screw in the bushing. The frame threads for the bushing on the left are still strong, the threads for the bushing and in the frame on the right are stripped. Overall, this pistol frame is in about Good condition and would rate Very Good but for the seized bushings and stripped threads.
Mechanics: There are not enough parts included to properly test the action. There is nothing to indicate that the pistol will not function properly with correctly installed parts. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None. Please note, no magazine is included.
