Our Assessment: This is a Winchester Big Bore Model 94 XTR with a 20” barrel chambered in .375 Winchester. This top eject rifle is in about Fine-Excellent condition, appearing to have seen few, if any, trips in the field, and very well maintained. The .375 Winchester cartridge offers a little more punch than the venerable .30-30 but has a straight-wall case, which is important for hunters who live in states that require such cartridges for hunting. Carbines like this one are quick handling and capable of fast shot strings as compared to a bolt action with a long barrel. In addition, carbines are light, easy to carry, and don’t have a tendency to snag on every bush you pass. This will make someone a great deer rifle that can also be used on black bears.
