Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number at the breech and “Remington / MODEL 700” at the midsection. The left side of the barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY INC., ILION, NY 204 RUGER” and “PY” at the chamber. The right side of the barrel is marked with inspectors marks at the breech. The bottom of the bolt is matched and marked “7558”.

Sights / Optics: There are no iron sights. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled and tapped holes that are empty.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is laminate wood with a capped through bolt, pistol grip, monte carlo comb with cheekpiece, and a beavertail forend. There are a few scattered light compressions and draglines. There are a few little nicks and dings through the finish, the most noticeable are on the bottom of the pistol grip and on the bottom of the forend. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the black rubber Remington buttpad. The pad has some wear at the heel and toe. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a couple of rubs, most noticeable on the bolt handle and on the bottom of the barrel. There are a couple tiny marks on the edges of the trigger guard. The markings are clear. The screw heads show light use. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly but the trigger pull is stiff. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement and has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. This VLS is chambered for the .204 Ruger and has a 26” barrel, matte blued finish, and laminate wood stock. This should be a great rifle to take target shooting or varmint hunting and hitting your mark should be no problem once you install a scope. Please see our photos and good luck!
