Markings: The left of the slide is marked “WILSON COMBAT” separated by an eagle head and has the Wilson Combat logo at the rear. The right is marked “TEXAS BBQ SPECIAL” and has a Texas state seal at the rear. The right of the frame is marked “WILSON COMBAT BERRYVILLE, AR U.S.A.” and with the serial number. The top of the chamber is marked “WILSON 45 ACP”. The right of the rear sight is marked “WILSON COMBAT”. The barrel bushing is marked “WILSON”. The pistol has hand engraved scroll coverage by master engraver Wayne D’Angelo.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade with a gold dot and is dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a Wilson Combat “U” notch sight with a serrated rear face, it is dovetailed into the slide and has two set screws. The top and rear of the slide have serrations for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered “black cherry” G10 panels with Wilson medallions. The frontstrap and mainspring housing are finely checkered to enhance the grip. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is a bit of light operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit is snug. The trigger pull is light and crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a gray nylon zippered Wilson Combat case, six 8-round magazines, test target, quality control checklist, and paperwork including the manual.
Our Assessment: Wilson Combat has long been known as one of the best manufacturers of custom and semi-custom 1911s in the world. This pistol is an excellent example of why they have earned this reputation. Wilson has combined the most desired upgrades including angled rear slide serrations, front and back strap checkering, flat mainspring housing, extended beavertail grip safety, full-length guide-rod, beveled extended magazine well, and skeletonized trigger with their legendary craftsmanship quality. This is their now discontinued Texas BBQ Special, it is a beautifully engraved 1911 with work done by master engraver Wayne D’Angelo. It is the perfect combination of beauty and badassery and will be a treasured heirloom for decades to come.
