Markings: The top tang is marked “P67565B / ONYX”. The water table is marked with Italian proofs. The bottom of the receiver is marked “MADE IN ITALY”, the Beretta logo, and “BERETTA / 686 Onyx”. The trigger plate is marked “PATENTED”. The receiver has jeweling on the sides and the Beretta logo next to “BERETTA”. The left of the top chamber is marked “BERETTA – MADE IN ITALY / GARDONE V.T.” and the right is marked “BERETTA USA CORP. ACCK. MD”. The left side of the top barrel is marked “28 GA. 2 3/4” – 28”” and the right side is marked with a warning address. The bottom of the monoblock is marked “P67565B” and with two proof marks and the date code. The bottom of the lower barrel is marked “3 4494”. The left side of the bottom barrel is marked “- EXCELSIOR – HIGH STRENGTH ALLOYED STEEL” over a series of specification markings. The bottom left of the top barrel is marked “CAM. 70” and “13.9” next to a proof mark. The forearm metal is marked “P67565B”.

Choke: The barrels have been threaded for chokes and are installed with Full over Full. There are three additional Beretta chokes included that measure Improved Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Skeet.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a silver bead at the front of the rib. The rib is checkered and serrated for glare reduction

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a schnabel forend, pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and a black rubber Terminator buttpad. The wood shows a small amount of scattered fine nicks with the most notable on the bottom left of the buttstock. The checkering is generally sharp with a few nicked checkers on the left side of the forend. The LOP measures 13 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad and 12 5/8” to the wood. The drop at the comb measures approximately 1 5/8” and 2 1/4” at the heel. The cast is about neutral. The pad has scattered light wear and has firmed slightly. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion, the top bore has some light fouling.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 95% of its metal finish. There is some discoloration on the bottom rear of the left side of the receiver as well as the left rear of the top barrel. There are scattered faint handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The action locks up tight with no play. The safety engages automatically when opening the action. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a blue Beretta hard case with the previously mentioned chokes, oil, a multi purpose tool, a manual, and two additional butt pads.
Our Assessment: Chambered for 28 gauge with a 28? barrel and capable of accepting a variety of chokes, this is a versatile gun that will be suitable for upland birds and challenging yourself on the Skeet fields. This shotgun is in Fine condition with signs of light use. This is a well-made Italian double gun made by one of the best, it will serve its new owner well for years to come.
