Markings: The left side of the slide is marked with gold toned decorative scroll engraving and “JOHN M. BROWNING / MASTER INVENTOR” on gold toned banners, “BROWNING ARMS CO. / MORGAN, UT. U.S.A.”, and a Browning Buckmark at the rear. The right side of the slide is also marked with gold toned decorative scroll engraving, “JMB” at the rear, “1911 / CELEBRATING JOHN BROWNING’S / 2011 / TIMELESS DESIGN” on gold toned banners, and “MODEL 1911-22″. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number. The top of the slide is marked with John M. Browning’s signature.
Barrel Length: 4 1/4″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch flat top sight dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered wood. There are a couple tiny marks on the smooth diamonds on either side. The checkering is sharp and uninterrupted. The grips are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion, just a touch of light fouling.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no significant wear worth noting, just a few light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a hard wood commemorative case with one 10-round magazine and a Ka-Bar knife. The case shows some light storage wear, in about Fine-Excellent condition. The knife shows no wear, in about Excellent condition as well.
Our Assessment: To celebrate the 100th anniversary of John M. Browning’s most successful pistol design, Browning came out with their 1911-22 rimfire pistol. A scaled-down version of the original 1911 chambered in the .22 LR cartridge, looking just like a little 1911-A1. This commemorative pistol is in Excellent condition and comes in a beautiful display case with a single 10-round magazine and a Ka-Bar knife. This would make a fun little addition to a 1911 collection or to introduce the next generation to the wonder that is John Browning’s 1911. Please see our photos and good luck!
