Markings: The right side of the barrel is marked “HIGH STANDARD / SPORTING FIREARMS /HAMDEN CONN. U.S.A.”. The left side of the barrel is marked “SENTINEL MK IV / CALIBER——.22 MAGNUM”. The serial number is found on the right side of the frame.

Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted with a serrated ramped  blade front sight. The rear sight is a square notch leaf adjustable for windage and elevation that is pinned to a slot in the top strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece oversize smooth wood panels. There are just a few scuffs on the grips, the most prominent is in the rear edge of the left grip panel. There are a few other scattered tiny draglines. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no apparent erosion.

Overall Condition: This gun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some minor nicks and scratches on the trigger guard. The cylinder shows a distinct turnline. There is a cluster of tiny nicks on the bottom of the barrel. The operational wear is light. The screw heads are sharp and undamaged, the pins are clean. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with no perceptible play. We did not fire this gun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is an original serial matching box. There is a tear in the right front edge. The box is in about Very Good condition overall.

Our Assessment: This is a hot little ticket. A home defense and concealable .22 Magnum 9-shot revolver! The bore is bright, the action is tight and the grips are comfortable. This will make a fine companion firearm, and will serve whatever need you need it to. Please see our photos and good luck!
