Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “EMP4″ at the midsection and “40CAL” at the rear. The right side of the slide is marked “EMP4” behind the serrations and “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” in front. The right side of the frame is marked “SPRINGFIELD INC / GENESEO IL USA / EMP 63503”. The top of the barrel is marked “S.A. .40S&W”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade with a red fiber-optic insert and is dovetailed to the front of the slide. The rear sight has two recessed white dots to either side of a square-notch Novak-style base dovetailed to the rear of the slide and fixed with a set-screw.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece textured G10 panels that have the same texture as the frontstrap and mainspring housing. There are no major defects, just light handling wear. The grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few little marks through the finish on the mainspring housing at the bottom. There are some light handling marks. Ther is standard operational wear. The screw heads are unmarred. The markings are clear and crisp. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is crisp. The slide to frame fit is snug. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included are a serial matching case, manual, and three 8-round magazines.
Our Assessment: This is a Springfield Armory EMP pistol in that is based on the venerable 1911. This is not just any EMP, it is the EMP4 Champion Conceal Carry with a 4″ barrel rather than 3″, bobtail carry contour, .40 S&W chambering, duo-tone finish, and tough steel frame. This would make a great concealed carry or home defense pistol. Ammunition is usually easy to find and afford. The trigger is far nicer than most pistols this size and will help you get the most out of its quality match grade bull barrel. This pistol is in Excellent condition with little sign of use, if any and comes with just about everything it did brand-new. Please see our photos and good luck!
