Our Assessment: The Remington Model 760 Gamemaster and 742 Woodsmasters are both popular hunting and sporting rifles from Remington. The rifles were chambered in popular hunting calibers for sporting purposes and were pump and semi-automatic respectively. They were very popular and were produced for a number of decades. They were fast handling rifles and were favored by quite a few hunters, however, in the case of this pair, hunting was the last thing on the owner’s mind. The rifles have both been engraved by Richard Boucher and have beautiful scroll engraving down to the sling swivel screws. The rifles feature gold molded game scenes and have gold border engraving. The wood has a beautiful figure and we think the work was done by Keith Heppler, we have seen another rifle form the same collection with wood done by him with the same checkering pattern. This pair is chambered in .270 Winchester and comes in a Huey Gun Cases leather fitted case with a suede interior and fitted depressions for screwdrivers and oil dippers which are also scroll engraved. This is a beautiful set that will make a grat addition to any collection, you’d be a fool not to drop a bid and owe it to yourself to see the pictures. Please see our photos and good luck!
