Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A.”. The rear face of the slide, under the firing pin plate, is marked “G”. The right of the frame is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY m 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY / No 1066706″ and with “RIA” Rock Island Arsenal rebuild mark. The left of the frame has circled “R.C.D.” and “P”. The front face of the barrel bushing is marked “7267718”, “N” and “M”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a serrated, ramped base double-riveted to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a Bo-Mar square-notch sight adjustable for windage and elevation, dovetailed to the rear of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut panels. The grips have light handling wear with a few light nicks and minor tool marks around the screw heads. The checkering is generally sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Fine condition as not original to the gun.
Type of Finish: Blued
Finish Originality: Refinished, the slide is not original to the frame.
Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright with sharp rifling. There is scattered light erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 90% of its current metal finish. The finish is generally strong with thinning finish at some edges. There are some scattered spots of finish loss, most concentrated on the dust cover and the right-front of the slide. There is some minor erosion under the finish. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The markings have soft edges and are mostly clear, the RCD marking on the frame is shallow and incomplete. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good condition as refinished and not parts-original.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger pull is crisp. There is very little play between the slide and frame. This pistol has manual and grip safeties. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a single 7-round magazine, marked “C-S” on the floorplate.
Our Assessment: This is a custom target pistol which has been made using a Union Switch & Signal frame and a Remington Rand slide, both from WWII production 1911A1 pistols. It has been equipped with target sights and a nice set of checkered walnut grips. Whether you’re looking for a .45 for your local bowling pin shoots or if some of these parts will help fill out your own builds, this is a nice pistol to add to any safe in America.
