Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right is marked “44 MAGNUM”. The side plate has S&W’s monogram logo, the right side of the frame has the four-line Marcas Registradas address. The yoke cut is marked with the serial and models numbers. The butt is marked with the serial number. The yoke and the sides of the grip frame have inspector marks.

Barrel Length: 8 3/8″ Pinned

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade with a red insert set on a ramped base integral to the barrel rib. The rear sight is a flat top, square notched and white outlined leaf in a base that is micrometer click adjustable for windage and elevation.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered Goncalo Alves target stocks with S&W medallions and a football cut. There are some scuffs and thinned finish, most noticeable on the left panel. There are a few scattered spots of discoloration on the left panel. There is a scratch on the front of the left panel. There are light handling marks. The checkering is strong. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are a few little marks on the barrel and a few small spots of oxidation, the most noticeable are on the sides at the muzzle. There are some spots of oxidation on the frame and trigger guard, the most noticeable is on the right side of the frame at the front bottom corner. There are some little marks through the finsih on the frame and sideplate, mostly hidden with grips installed. There are a few little scuffs on the sideplate. There are some light marks on the cylinder and a faint turn line. There is some light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Very Good-Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with light play on each chamber when the trigger is depressed. The double action trigger is smooth and the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is Smith & Wesson’s famous Model 29-32 built on the N-Frame with a square butt. This revolver has a beautiful blue finish, with wide serrated case colored trigger and wide checkered hammer. This revolver is a little large for defense, it would make a fantastic gun for handgun hunting and where it will really shine is in silhouette matches. With its adjustable rear sight and nice trigger, this revolver will make short work of chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams. Please see our pictures and good luck!
