Markings: The left side of the frame is marked with a three arrow Beretta logo followed by “BERETTA UGB25 Xcel”, “Made in Italy”, “Patented”, and with the Beretta arrows surrounded by a wreath. The left of the chamber, obscured when closed, is marked “BERETTA U.S.A. CORP. ACKK. MD. / BERETTA – GARDONE – V.T. – MADE IN ITALY / OB HP 12 GA. 2 3/4″ – 70 – 30” and also has proofs and the “CD” date code. The sides of the barrel at the muzzle are marked “OPTIMABORE / HP”. The bottom of the receiver is marked with proofs and the “CD” date code. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “UGB25 Xcel BERETTA” and with a three arrow logo. The base of the loading arm on the right side of the receiver is marked with three arrows surrounded with a wreath.
Barrel Length: 30” Vent Rib
Choke: The barrel is threaded for interchangeable chokes and installed with an Improved Cylinder choke.
Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted white plastic bead at the front of the rib and has a small metal alignment bead. The rib and receiver have serrations for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are textured walnut with a pistol grip, straight comb, and GelTek buttpad. The texturing is similar to press checkering. There are some little compressions and draglines. The buttstock has some nicks, dings, and scratches. The deepest marks on the stocks are on the comb. The texturing is strong. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 14 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. The buttpad shows light wear. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 96% of its metal finish. The barrel has some scuffs and rubs that have thinned the finish and the receiver has a few little spots of finsih loss on some of the edges. There are some little spots of wear on the lever. There are a couple of little marks on the rib. The pinheads are mostly unmarred but the hinge pin has some tool marks. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The UGB25 Xcel is what happens when a top break meets a semi-auto. This shotgun has a unique short recoil operating system and uses an arm that holds the second round on the right side of the receiver which automatically loads it upon shooting the first round. With one barrel, it has a low bore axis which will reduce recoil and muzzle flip. Also with one barrel you will have a consistent point of impact and shot pattern with every round fired. This one has some wear, but the majority is to the wood. The mechanics are good and this will be dusting clays for years to come. Please see our photos and good luck!
