Our Assessment: The Colt 1911 is the best gun ever made. The gun has been presented to presidents, worn by CMH recipients and Generals and is used to this day in competition. There has never been a more effective or reliable platform built for a semi-auto pistol, explaining why the pistol is issued to this day, more than 100 years after invention. The series 70’s are probably the most highly regarded of all the 1911’s, and this one is sharp. If you own a 1911, there is a good chance that this one is in better condition. If you don’t own a 1911, now is your chance to own one of the cleanest In box Colt 1911’s on the market.
