Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “MOD. 1894 OCTAGON”, “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. / NORTH HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A.” and “CAL. 44 REM. MAG.” The tang of the receiver that is on the top of the butt stock is marked with the serial number “27012016”. The buttpad is marked with the Marlin logo.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a dovetailed balde with a brass bead at the muzzle. The rear sight is a “U”-notch leaf and elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stocks are two-piece wood with forearm, flat comb and pistol grip. There are some scattered nicks, scratches and handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP is 14” from the trigger to the buttpad. The buttpad has some minor wear. Overall, the stocks are in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains about 95% of its finish. There are some handling marks, scratches and nicks. The markings are clear. The screwheads have some toolmarks but remain sharp and serviceable. Overall, the rifle is in Fine – Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
