Our Assessment: This is a Winchester Model 1892 made in 1930 and chambered in .25-20 Winchester. This rifle is in about Very Good condition with about 80% of its original finish remaining. The bore is still bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. The lever locks up solidly and the action functions correctly. This vintage rifle has seen some honest wear but its bore and mechanical condition indicate proper maintenance. The .25-20 Win. cartridge was based on necking down the .32-20 cartridge and was intended for small game and varmints, developing about 1460 fps. with 86 grain bullets. It was once a favorite with farmers, ranchers, pot hunters and trappers. With its original finish and pre-WWII manufacture date, this rifle should be of interest to the Winchester collectors. Please see our photos and good luck!
