The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is a safety mounted on the rear of the bolt. Pulled to the rear, the safety is ON, locking both the bolt and the trigger. If pulled back half-way, it blocks only the trigger. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: This is a vintage pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 Standard Rifle chambered for the classic .30-06 cartridge and made in 1950. The rifle appears to have seen light use in the field, retaining about 95% of its metal finish with light wear in the stock, a great bore and strong mechanics. Ammunition for this rifle is (usually) readily available in a variety of loadings and makes for a wonderful hunting rifle that can be used on just about any game in North America. Whether you’re looking to add to your Winchester collection or just want a great hunting rifle, this will be a great gun to add to any safe in America. Please see our photos and good luck!
