Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SAVAGE ARMS CORP., UTICA, N.Y. U.S.A. / PATENTED FEB 7 1893 JULY 25 1893 CAL., 303”. The underside of the receiver is marked with the serial number, “16175”. The barrel, receiver, and trigger assembly feature fine floriate engraving with a water buffalo on the left side of the receiver, an elephant on the right, and a lion on the underside.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade pinned into a slotted base that is dovetailed into the barrel. There is no rear sight, but there are two filled dovetail notches.

Bore Condition: The bore is rather dark with well-defined rifling. There is no erosion, but there is light-to-moderate stubborn fouling throughout.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The receiver and barrel have a few scattered light nicks notable around the action and the underside of the barrel where there is also a few light scuffs in the area that would be protected by the stock. The screwheads are mostly sharp. The upper barrel marking is shallow, likely from aggressive cleaning. Overall, this barreled action rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this barreled action. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
