Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “SHILEN DGA 2889”. The bottom of the bolt handle is marked “889”. The left of the barrel is marked “22/250 Imp. / 246 ND”. The right of the barrel has “250ISH-3” written in black ink.
One extra barrel has a piece of tape with “250ISH-1” hand-written, also marked “22 250/.250 NK. / IMP” in the metal.
The other extra barrel has a piece of tape with “250ISH-2” hand-written, also marked “22/ 250 Imp. / 246 ND” in the metal.
Barrel Length: 26” Hart Barrels 1×14″ Twist
Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver has two-piece Leupold-style bases and rings holding a Leupold 12x scope with fine crosshair reticle and target knobs. The scope has minor handling wear in the body and clear glass, in Fine-plus condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a camouflage painted McMillan fiberglass with pistol grip, monte carlo comb, brown rubber Pachmayr buttpad and provision for sling studs front and rear (none present). The stock has some scattered light nicks and scuffs, wear along the top and bottom seams, and a few more notable marks in the right of the butt. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad. The pad shows minor wear. The stock rates in Very Good overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original to Custom Build
Bore Condition: The bores are bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bores.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some light handling marks on the barrels, the non Swizzel-finished barrel shows light scuffs and general storage marks. The action shows minor operational wear. The markings are clear. The screw sockets are strong. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The Shilen trigger is crisp and light. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the installed scope and additional barrels as described. Also included are two test targets, each fired with one of the included barrels.
Our Assessment: This is a custom target rifle built by Dan Dowling for superior performance. It is a wonderful set with three Hart barrels, two having Dowling’s signature “Swizzle” finish, a 12x Leupold target scope, Shilen DGA action all mounted in a McMillan fiberglass stock. The following information was provided by the consignor:
-Approximately 100 rounds each fired in two of the barrels following a shoot/clean/shoot/clean break-in procedure.
-Barrels OD: 1.208-0.870″, 1:14″ Twist.
