Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SAKO CAL. 22 PPC USA MADE IN FINLAND” and features a crowned lion proof. The left side of the receiver is marked “SAKO 22 PPC” and features the serial number “A079” and another proof mark. The bottom of the barrel is marked “IMP’D BY STOEGER INC. N.J.” The bolt is marked “079”.

Sights/ Optics: There are no iron sights attached or any provisions. The top of the receiver has Talley Steel bases installed on the factory receiver grooves.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The stock is checkered wood one-piece with raised comb, pistol grip and rubber buttpad. The stock has a few scattered nicks and scratches on top of normal handling marks. Notably, the grip has a few scratches and the bottom of the stock has a scratch just in front of the trigger guard. The buttpad is marked “FINLAND SAKO” and has some wear with dirt build up on the bottom right corner. There are two studs in the stock, one in the forend and another at the belly of the buttstock. The LOP is 14.25” from the trigger to the end of the buttpad. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock is in Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains about 97% of its finish. There is standard operational wear to the bolt from use. There is also a small scratch on the right side of the barrel. The screwheads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Fine-Excellent overall condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Sako Vixen .22 PPC Bolt Action rifle was produced between 1987-92. Unlike most other Sako’s this one was designed for .22 PPC ammunition which sets it apart from most other Sakos on the market. The vixen is an excellent rifle which can be used for hunting and target shooting. Goodluck on your bid!
