Our Assessment: Introduced in 1962, the Remington 40-X series has been a staple of bench-rest shooting for more than half a century. The Remington Custom Shop produces all of the rifles in this series to ensure superior performance. This example has been customized by a previous owner and has a new barrel, Leupold scope, and an H-S Precision stock. We believe that it is chambered for .22-250 Remington but there are no markings on the barrel to indicate the caliber. This will be a great rifle for varmint hunting and will also be a great rifle to further customize. Please see our photos and good luck!
