Markings: The left side of the slide is marked with “BERETTA U.S.A. CORP. ACKK. .MD. MADE IN USA” and “PB” in an oval. The right side of the slide is marked “96 BRIGADIER. -CAL. 40 S.&W.-PATENTED”. The left side of the frame is marked with the serial number “BER436171”. The right side of the frame is marked with a warning. Both sides of the grip are marked in the center with the three-arrow Beretta logo. The top of the barrel is marked “40 S&W STAINLESS”. The front of the slide is marked “STAINLESS”.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade with a white dot dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a square-notch with two white dots dovetailed to the slide.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The grip is a one-piece black rubber with finger grooves that wraps around the frontstrap. There are minor handling marks, but otherwise the grip is free of any notable wear or damage. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grip rates in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, and rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. Either side of the frame has scattered minor scuffs. The screws show light tool marks with strong slots, and all markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The Brigadier model has a beefed-up slide at the locking notches, making the slide more suitable for heavy use, especially nice for a pistol chambered for .40 S&W. We did not fire this handgun. The single action is crisp, and the double action is smooth. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This pistol includes a blue Beretta textured plastic snap-case with serial-matching cardboard box, one (1) 11-round magazine, a lock, and the manual. The case shows only minor wear from storage and handling, and rates in Fine condition. The cardboard box has moderate wear with scuffs throughout, worn edges, and creases on the side panels. The magazine has light operational wear, a strong spring, intact feed lips, and rates in Fine condition.
