Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BENELLI ARMI S.P.A. – URBINO –ITALY”. The right side of the barrel is marked “12 GA. 3” – FOR 2 ¾” OR 3” SHELLS / READ OWNERS MANUAL BEFORE USING GUN”. The right side of the receiver is marked “HECKLER & KOCH.INC.STERLING, VA – MADE IN ITALY”. The left side of the receiver is marked “12 GA. – M1 SUPER 90 – BENELLI ITALY”. The underside of the receiver is marked with the serial number, date code, and Italian proof marks. The bolt is marked “*BENELLI ARMI SYSTEM”.

Choke: The barrel is threaded for chokes and installed with Improved Cylinder.
Sights / Optics: The barrel has afull ventilated rib with a fiber optic front sight bead.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a finger-grooved forend, pistol grip, straight comb, and black rubber Benelli buttpad. The stocks have barely any marks, with only one significant ding at the belly. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/4? from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The vent rubber pad is still soft. Overall, the stocks are in about Exellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The only mentionable wear is some rub thinning fromthe forearm on the barrel. This thing does not look to have been shot more than a box. The screw heads are strong the pinheads are unmarred. The markings are crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Model M1 Super 90 is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by Benelli. It is available in several versions for civilian, law enforcement and military use. It features the proprietary Benelli recoil system, known for its reliability and easy maintenance. Due to the inertia recoil system, the M1 should use heavier loads to cycle properly but because the action is inertia driven vs. the traditional gas cycling operation it can fire and reliably cycle lighter loads.
A few of us at the shop own M1 Super 90 shotguns and could not be happier! The ultra-reliable inertia system is low maintenance (unlike some of our significant others) and allows for reduced recoil as well.
This Super 90 was made in 1994 and is configured as the perfect sporting shotgun. If it’s good enough for the military, law enforcement, and professional competitors, it should do just fine for you.
