Markings: There is no import mark. The top of the receiver has an FN logo. The left of the receiver has Belgian proof marks and “FAB. NAT. D’ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL – BELGIQUE”. The right of the receiver is marked “C 56589”. The bottom of the bolt handle is marked “56589”, the top has a Belgian proof. There is decorative engraving on the bottom metal.
Barrel Length: 27″
Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped with Leupold bases and rings holding a Redfield 3-9x scope with crosshair reticle. The scope has a few light mark in the body, its turret caps are missing, and the glass is fairly clear, in Very Good condition. The right-rear of the bridge is drilled, tapped and filled for a receiver sight (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one-piece checkered walnut with throughbolt, capped pistol grip, monte-carlo comb with cheekpiece, black rubber Decelerator buttpad and sling swivels front and rear. The stock has light handling wear with a few scattered nicks, scuffs and scratches. The checkering is generally sharp. There are no chips or cracks. There is crazing and some loss to the finish on the grip cap. The LOP measures 14 1/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad, 13 1/4″ to the back of the wood. The pad has minor wear. Overall, the stock is in Very Good-Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original to custom build.
Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is infrequent minor erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The balance is mostly in scattered minor surface oxidation on the bottom metal and a few spots on the barrel. There are a few other scattered minor marks and the action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Fabrique Nationale is a behemoth in the gun world. Not just the premier firearms manufacturer in Belgium, if not all of Europe, they have at one point or another supplied most of the armed forces in the Western Hemisphere as well as partnering with John Moses Browning, himself. In addition to all of their licensed designs and military firearms, they have also produced some of the finest sporting arms in the world. This is a custom rifle built on an FN action with a barrel chambered for .284 Winchester topped with a vintage Redfield scope.
