Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A. / * * * * MOD. 1895G CAL. 45/70 GOVT. * * * *”. On the left of the barrel near the receiver is an “A” within a triangle and another poorly struck factory mark. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked with Marlin’s two-line warning. On the same side, near the receiver, it is marked “REP” in an oval next to another factory marking. The left side of the receiver is marked with a QR code and the serial number.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade that is dovetailed to a serrated riser which is screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a semi-buckhorn elevator sight with a U-notch leaf that is dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped in four places for mounting a scope (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a capped forearm, straight grip, straight comb, black ventilated raised checker Marlin recoil pad, and Marlin “bullseye” in the belly. There is a sling stud in the belly and at the bottom of the forearm cap. There are no notable imperfections, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad has some minor rub marks and light discoloration. Overall, the stocks are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore but there is some stubborn fouling in the grooves.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are faint handling marks and minor operational wear but no major imperfections. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. The receiver contains a push safety that blocks the hammer from hitting the pin. There is also a lever safety. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes in its original serial matching box with a manual and a safety lock. The box shows two minor punctures on the top and creases consistent with storage wear. The box rates in about Very Good overall condition.
