Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “A. UBERTI & C. GARDONE V.T. ITALY”. The left shoulder of the barrel at the receiver is marked with two proof marks and the “AB” date code. The right shoulder of the barrel at the receiver is marked “MOD. 73 CARBINE CAL. 22 LR”. The bottom of the receiver is marked with two proof marks. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number “24977”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade that is integral to a rectangular riser. The rear sight is a flip-up elevator sight with a V-notch glider sight when in the up position and a U-notch fixed sight in the down position. The rear face of the elevator is marked 2-9. The rear sight is dovetailed and screwed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are smooth wood with a banded forearm, straight grip and comb, and a carbine style steel buttplate with a sliding door to a storage compartment in the buttstock. The wood shows some scattered minor compressions, draglines, and scratches. There are two small spots of material loss on the rear of the comb where it meets the buttplate. There are some streaks of white discoloration on the right side of the forearm. The LOP measures 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the end of the blued buttplate. The plate shows thick scabbing throughout. The stocks rate in about Good-Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There just a few spots of erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 85% of its metal finish. There is stubborn dried grease on the bottom and side of the receiver. There are some infrequently scattered nicks and scratches throughout the metal. There is standard operational wear. There is some light oxidation on the lever and the lifter. There is some build up in the gap between the barrel and mag tube. The screw heads range from sharp to slightly disfigured with serviceable slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lever safety lock is present. We have not fired this rifle. The lever is a bit stiff. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be required to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Uberti is known for making quality reproductions of classic firearms. This is a Model 73 that is in about Very Good condition with a solid bore. It needs a bit of a clean up. Please see our photos and good luck!
