Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “KIMBER MFG. INC. YONKERS, NY, USA 308 WIN ADVANCED TACTICAL” and has an encircled “P” at the chamber. The left of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “Kimber 8400”. The underside of the bolt handle is matched and hand inscribed “014”.
Barrel Length: 18″ Threaded with SureFire Muzzle Brake, 20″ Overall. Custom Cut.
Sights / Optics: The top of the receiver has a one-piece rail installed. There is no provision for iron sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece McMillan stock is multicam finished synthetic with a straight adjustable height comb, contoured pistol grip, wide flat bottom forend, thumbhook on the belly, adjustable LOP, and black rubber buttpad. The forend and pistol grip have texturing. There are quick detach mounts on the bottom and left side of the forend and on the bottom and left side of the buttstock. There are a couple scattered light marks into the finish and a few rubs. The defects are hard to spot…some might say they’re camouflaged. The LOP measures approximately 14” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the pad. There are currently two 1/2″ spacers installed. The pad has no major defects. The stock rates in Fine Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few little marks through the finish on the bolt knob. There are some light marks through the finish scattered over the barrel, mainly forwards of the forend. There are a couple light rubs on the trigger guard. The receiver has some light handling wear. There is some light operational wear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This rifle has a three-position safety and a claw extractor. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a fitted hard case, cleaning kits, an article on the rifle, Seekonk 65 lb torque wrench, and a Harris S BRM bipod.
Our Assessment: The top of the Kimber tactical line is the Advanced Tactical Rifle, a repeating bolt-action gun with a heavy barrel and a McMillan A-5 stock. The rifle comes packed with all the signature Kimber action features including a two-lug bolt, a Mauser-style non-rotating claw extractor, a mechanical blade ejector, a pivoting left-side bolt release and a recessed recoil lug between the receiver and barrel. It also has a Winchester 70-type three-position safety lever located on the bolt shroud and an oversized bolt knob. The barrel is free floated and the action is glass bedded in the stock and paired with the match grade barrel with a tight match chamber this rifle should be plenty accurate if you do your part. This one has been installed with a SureFire muzzle brake and has some light wear from standard use. It has a bright bore with sharp rifling and no erosion. If you’re after a top-of-the-line tactical rifle look no further, top this with your favorite optic and you have a perfect rifle for tactical purposes and target shooting.
