There are also marks on the right side of the stock at the center of the finger groove, where it looks like it was wedged into a box, please see pictures. The remainder of the stock is in good shape with just a few dings and mars. There are no major cracks. There is much oil finish remaining. The stocks are relatively clean and do not look like they have ever been cleaned or sanded.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: All original

Bore Condition: The rifling is strong and the bore is bright. There is just the beginning of surface erosion in the grooves.

Overall Condition: This gun retains about 85% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some light surface marks and evidence of poor metal preparation (tooling marks and casting pits). The Screw heads are sharp and serviceable, showing only light damage. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about excellent condition for its age and build quality.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly..

Box & Accessories: There is no box, there is no bayonet.

Our Assessment: This is a rare chance to obtain a true collector quality Arisaka. This gun is in the type 2 paratroop configuration; a true rarity. We have sold many Arisaka rifles and this one is one of the best. A clear Chrysanthemeum, good remaining finish, good servicable wood, paratrooper configuration, aircraft sights and a good bore. What more could a collector want!!!!
