Markings: The right side of the slide is marked ”LIGHTWEIGHT”. The left side of the slide is marked “COLT DEFENDER / -SERIES 90-” with the rampant Colt logo to each side. The right side of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. / DR09004”. The barrel is marked “-COLT 45 AUTO-“. The right side of the trigger guard is marked “5”, the left is marked “VP” in triangle and “A”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a white dot and the rear sight is a Novak-style swept square-notch sight with two white dots, both are dovetailed to the slide. The rear sight has a set screw and it appears a portion of an allen key has broken off in the socket.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one-piece pebble-textured Hogue black rubber wrap-around grip with finger grooves which has no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks, in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are some scattered scuffs and rubs that have caused smooth spots, some of the most noticeable are on the top of the slide and on the left of the frame. There is a takedown mark on the left side of the slide. The screw heads are sharp. The pin heads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit is snug with only a little play. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue plastic Colt box with serial matching label, an assortment of factory paperwork including manual, and a total of two 7-round stainless steel magazines, each marked “COLT / 45 AUTO”, “C”, “S” and with a rampant colt. Both magazines show light operational wear with intact feed lips and strong springs, in about Fine-Excellent condition. The box has not notable wear or damage, in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: This is a Colt Defender Lightweight, Officer’s-model 1911-style pistol. This example is in Fine condition with signs of light use. The pistol comes with its original box and a pair of magazines in similar condition. This gives the manual of arms, crisp trigger and powerful .45 cartridge of the full-size 1911 in a small package that will make for a great concealed carry or home defense pistol.
